Mildred Jones

Mildred Cora Jones, 88, of Alpena, passed away at Tendercare/Greenview on Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

Mildred was born February 7, 1920 in Rogers City to Guy and Hattie (Smith) VanNatter and married Roy H. Jones June 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2003.

She was a member of Long Rapids Congregational Church and Rebekah Lodge.

Surviving are 5 children, Wayne (Sheila) of Long Rapids, Carole Jones of Long Rapids, Marilyn (Mrs. Bill) Ristau of Long Lake; Gary (Dixie) of Long Rapids, Larry (Cindi) of Tennessee; 18 grandchildren, Waneta, LeAnn, Kevin, Matt, Jeremy, Christopher, Denise, Christina, Bobbie, Paula, Crissy, Kimberly, Garrett, Cody, Jason, Adam, Jesse, Justin; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Dorothy (Ralph) Standen of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were a grandson, Jamie; 1 brother, Carl VanNatter; and a sister, Inez Christ.

Mrs. Jones is at the Bannan Funeral Home where family and friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday at Long Rapids First Congregational Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. George Burrows officiating.
