Dorothy V. Bobolts

Dorothy V. Bobolts, 83, of 7705 US 23 South, Alpena passed away Sunday November 16, 2008 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

The former Dorothy Knechtel was born in Alpena on January 19, 1925 and was a life long resident of the area. She attended Alpena schools and was a member of the first class to graduate from the new high school in 1943 that replaced the one that was destroyed by fire in 1940.

She was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she married Richard Bobolts on September 6, 1957. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2001. She was employed by the J.C. Penney Company for 34 years retiring in 1986.

Surviving are daughter Carol of Brooklyn, New York, brother Arthur and wife Mary Ann of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Bobolts was preceded in death by one brother Donald on February 7, 2007.

Mrs. Bobolts is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Owens officiating.
