It took jurors a little more than an hour Wednesday, to find an Alpena man guilty of assault with intent to murder.
Thirty year-old Chad James Erickson stands convicted of brutally stabbing 21 year-old Ervin Ritthaler Jr. with a knife. The incident occurred in December of 2007, outside an apartment building on Alpena’s north side.
Ericksen is also charged as a habitual offender. True North Radio learned he spent 10 years in prison on a previous conviction for stabbing his victim in the neck. He now faces up to life in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
“I’m very pleased with the verdict,” said Alpena County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Judi Twarozynski. “I’m happy for the victim and I’m glad there is justice for him and his family.”
Ericksen’s two co-defendants, Ryan James Skowronek, 19, and Cory Allen Hamman, 21, both testified against Ericksen in exchange for a reduced charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. They both face up to 10 years behind bars.

I went to the "OTIS" site. This person is a very sick individual. Carma is coming his way. He won't be back. How old is he? And does not know right from wrong. No mercy here.
