A Mio man has been arrested for maintaining a marijuana plot in a wooded area north of Hillman.

The Huron Undercover Narcotics Team (HUNT) first found the marijuana plants and then used special resources to identity the 55 year-old suspect.

The man was located a short distance from his home Thursday, and taken into custody.  HUNT says there was at least 20 marijuana plants growing in the plot but less than 200.  An unknown amount of marijuana was also found inside his house.

The suspect is currently being held in the Montmorency County Jail.  He faces up to seven years in prison and/or a $500,000 fine if convicted.
