A 58 year-old woman from Cheboygan County’s Inverness Township has been jailed for firing a gun at a family member.

Elizabeth Marie Siudara is being held on a $50,000 bond on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and reckless use of a firearm.

An investigation by the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office revealed that on Monday, Siudara allegedly got into a disagreement with the family member, grabbed a .22 caliber rifle and pointed it at the person while in the garage.

The victim was able to lock Siudara in the attached garage at which time she allegedly fired shots through the door to the home in an attempt to get in.

The incident occurred at Siudara’s home on the west side of Mullet Lake.  She was drinking alcohol at the time.

Siudara faces a maximum of 4 years in prison if convicted.  A preliminary examination is scheduled for September 19, 1:30 in the afternoon.
