A 4-country public land auction is being held Saturday, to dispose of tax delinquent properties from Alpena, Cheboygan, Montmorency and Presque Isle counties.

The sale is being held at Inland Lakes Elementary School in Indian River.  Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the first parcel hits the auction block at noon.

There are 40 parcels in Alpena alone.  Most of them are vacant lots, but some homes will also be up for sale.  They are located on Sable and Fletcher streets and Long Lake and Second avenues.  Four others are located in outlying townships.

There are 44 parcels in Cheboygan, 21 in Montmorency and a whopping 127 in Presque Isle County, most of which are vacant lots.

Alpena County needs to recoup nearly $113,000 from the sale to make up for lost property taxes from 2010.

More information on the individual parcels in each county, including pictures, can be found at www.tax-sale.info.
