The annual Victory over Japan or V-J Days celebration is being held in Hillman this weekend.  (AUG 10 & 11)

The 67^th annual event commemorates the anniversary of Japan’s surrender to the Allies in 1945, ending World War II.

Hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars, (VFW) the festival features a raffle, pig roast, book sale, children’s games, crafts and much more.

A grand parade will be held at noon Saturday.  Music will be taking center stage at the Hi-Way Inn from 1 to 10 p.m.  A car cruise event is being held from 4 to 8 p.m. and everyone will enjoy fireworks over the Thunder Bay River at Emerick Park beginning at dusk.

A car show and swap meet is the highlight of Sunday.  And country music will be featured at the Hi-Way Inn from 7 to 10 p.m.
