Lyle Leslie Copeland, 45, formerly of Alpena died Saturday July 28, 2012 in Fort McMurray, AB, Canada.

Lyle was born July 26, 1967 in Alpena to Lyle and Mable (Nolan) Copeland.  A member of Local #324, Lyle was a heavy equipment operator building roads, a job he truly loved.  He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, taking long rides, mostly on his Harley, and spending time with friends.  He loved children and was always willing to help anyone in need.  He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.

Surviving are his daughter, Shania Emily Dehn-Copeland, his father, Lyle Copeland, both of Alpena, five siblings; Kenny (Jackie) Copeland of Missouri, Connie Nolan of Arizona, Joan (Lorn) Tangie of Canada, Sherri ( David)Black of Canada, Vernon (Autumn Ferrier-Copeland) Copeland of Gaylord, MI,  Shania’s mother and Lyle’s former companion, Amber Dehn of Alpena and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable, and his infant child, baby Copeland.

Lyle has been taken for cremation. Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.   Arrangements for a memorial service are incomplete and will be announced by McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena in a future edition of the News.
