A man put his son at risk Wednesday, when he got drunk and drove the boy to a park in Alpena.

City police were sent to Mich-e-ke-wis Park shortly after 1 p.m., after a concerned citizen saw the man drive into the parking lot.

Officers made contact with the man at the park, who was with his 10 year-old son.  They asked him to perform a field sobriety test, which the suspect failed.

The man was subsequently arrested for operating while intoxicated, child endangerment and driving on a suspended license.

City officers were assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police.
