David Arthur Flick, 56, of Alpena, died Thursday July 12, 2012 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor following a short and courageous battle with cancer.

David was born May 3, 1956 in Kittanning, PA to Arthur and Violet (Curfman) Flick.  He married Beverly Baker on November 16, 1974 in New Castle, PA.  They moved to the Alpena area in 1994 and quickly adopted Alpena as their home.  David was self-employed, working with numerous funeral homes providing pre-need insurance to families.  He was highly motivated and dedicated to his work, loved meeting people and working with his funeral home clients.  In his rare spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping and boating.

Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Beverly, his daughter; Heather (Larry) Kokx of Lapeer, MI, his son; Aaron Flick of Alpena, his granddaughter, Becca, two sisters; Agnes (Ned) Curfman of Volant, PA, Nancy (Don) Serene of Bluffton, SC, four brothers; Bob (Sis) Flick of Butler, PA, Steve (Beth) Flick of Clinton, TN, Tim (Diane) Flick of Newfield, NJ, Warren Proper of Seneca, PA and a close and special friend, Steve Gauthier of Alpena.

David Flick is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where friends may call on Sunday from 2:00-8:00pm and on Monday July 16, 2012 at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am.  Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Please visit David’s personal web page at www.lifestorynet.com where you may share a memory or sign the on-line guest book.
