Alpena Police: Play it safe this 4th of July

The Alpena Police Department is reminding residents to be careful with fireworks this 4th of July.
Michigan law has changed and more powerful but dangerous fireworks can now be purchased and used.
Police say the safest way for children to enjoy fireworks this holiday is to watch a professional display.
USDA Forest Service officials from the Huron-Manistee National Forests remind campers that fireworks of any type or size are illegal to possess or use in any forest.
