Some manholes along Chisholm Street and State Avenue in Alpena need to be repaired.

A contractor for the State of Michigan will begin those repairs on Monday, along Chisholm Street to Blair Street on State Avenue.

The work is expected to start at about 7 o’clock in the morning and last one to two days.  Temporary lane closures will be utilized and in place for 24-48 hours.

The lane closures will change as workers move from one manhole to the next, resulting in traffic delays.

Traffic will be maintained, but motorists should seek alternate routes to avoid the construction area.
