Imagine answering your front door and someone forces their way into your home and assaults you.  That’s exactly what happened to one City of Alpena resident Tuesday.

The alleged victim told police he knew the 17 year old suspect who busted into his house but he had fled the scene.

Officers searched the area and later located the young man.  He was taken into custody on a charge of home invasion first degree, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

The suspect was also wanted on two outstanding warrants for possession of a weapon in a school zone and disorderly conduct.

The assault occurred shortly before 4 p.m., at a residence in the 200 block of Third Avenue.
