Early childhood development conference in Alpena

A Great Start Early Childhood conference is being held in Alpena on Saturday, May 19.

The conference is open to anyone interested in learning more about early childhood development.

Guest speaker Kim Johnson will talk about the importance of early literacy both in and out of the home.

Some of the other topics that will be discussed throughout the day include: Growing Up Too Fast, early childhood discipline, transition to kindergarten, destination imagination and quality in early childhood programs.

The conference will be held at the Alpena Community College. Registration is $5 and will begin at 8:30 a.m.  The cost includes lunch.
