One person is dead and another in the hospital following a fatal auto accident Monday, in Montmorency County.

Sheriff Don Edwards said 23 year-old Zachary Taylor Vogt of Lewiston was traveling on Wolf Lake Road when his pickup truck left the roadway and crashed.

A passenger in the vehicle, 23 year-old Kara Angela Cassissi of Lewiston died at the scene.  Vogt was taken to Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord with unknown injuries.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at about 11:30 Monday night south of Lewiston in Albert Township.
 
The sheriff’s office is being assisted in the investigation by Michigan State Police.
