Pettalia hosting agriculture meetings
State representative Peter Pettalia is hosting town hall meetings to speak with farmers about what is going on at the state level in regards to agriculture.
Meetings are scheduled for Alpena, Posen and Onaway.
Pettalia has invited State Rep. Kevin Daley, chair of the House Committee on Agriculture, as a special guest to listen to thoughts and concerns about the local, regional and statewide agriculture industry.
“Agriculture has been a stable performer for Michigan’s economy and if anything we have been reminded that farming and food production will be an integral part of the state’s future,” said Pettalia.
All three meetings will be held on Friday. They are open to the public and will concentrate on agriculture-based legislation and economic issues.
The first meeting of the day will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., inside the Granum Theatre at Alpena Community College. The next will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Posen Village Hall; and the third will be held from 3 to 4 p.m., inside the Onaway City Hall courtroom.
People unable to attend one of the meetings are encouraged to contact Pettalia by calling his Lansing office number at 1-877-737-4106.
