Florence Weise, 86, of Alpena, Michigan, passed away quietly on March 18, 2012 in Kalamazoo, MI surrounded by family and friends.

She was born November 30, 1926 in Alpena, Michigan, the daughter of late Elizabeth and Walter Zielaskowski. She was the third of eight siblings and is preceded in death by sisters Blanche (John) Stamm and Jeanette (James) Roy and brothers Louis and Ray Zielaskowski. On May 24, 1952, she married the late Jack Weise.

Florence was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church and its’ Rosary Society and a life time member of the VFW in Alpena, MI. She worked at Linkes Flower Shop for 25 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Stony) Evans of Kalamazoo, MI; sisters, Louise (Bruce) Burnham of Bay City, Barbara (Richard) Makowski of Gaylord, and brother, Clem (Jane) Zielaskowski of Alpena; grandchildren, Jeffery Turske (Shannon Watkoske) of Mattawan, Jack Turske of Kalamazoo, MI, Angela (Michael) Strouse of Yorba Linda, CA, and Amy (Scott) McNee of Geneva; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Weise will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Greg McCallum officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
