Hoops for Hope Basketball Games
This week, the Alpena High School boys and girls basketball teams, as well as Alpena Community College’s girls basketball team will be partaking in the 2nd annual “Hoops for Hope” basketball games.
Alpena Community College, Alpena High School, Alpena Cancer Center, and Alpena Regional Medical Center Development Council are partnering to host the three sets of games. Alpena Community College Women’s and Alpena High School Girl’s & Boy’s Varsity basketball teams will sport pink to spread the awareness of breast cancer.
A chance of winning a pink gift basket will be given to anyone wearing a pink Hoops for Hope t-shirt at the designated games. The pink game ball will also be raffled off during each game, with additional raffles and activities. Proceeds from all of the events will benefit the ARMC Mammography Subsidy fund.
The first set of games is tonight against Sault Ste. Marie, starting with the AHS JV and Freshmen teams tipping off at 6:00 PM, and Varsity starting at 7:30 PM. The boys games will be on Friday, as they host Gaylord. The times are the same, with JV and Freshmen playing at 6:00 PM, and Varsity playing at 7:30 PM. The ACC women will be playing their Hoops for Hope game this Saturday starting at 7:30 as they host Delta.
